Project 3 for my media studio class.

We were asked to create merchandise icons: one infograph, one silhouette, and one situational icon.

I chose to render some pieces of furniture.

I did the initial sketches by hand, then took pictures of the sketches, and edited them in photoshop. I manually traced the images with the pen tool, and used gradients, shapes, etc.

Photoshop is frustrating to work with, but I’m beginning to get the hang of it! It’s just there’s so many commands, that’s the frustrating part. Also, the downside is that with Photoshop, there are only so many times that you are allowed to choose ‘step backward’ from the edit menu in order to delete a mistake. In Illustrator, you can do this as many times as you want. Ugh.

Art on the computer always takes so much longer than I think it will!

Still, I’m somewhat pleased with how these turned out. Getting the angles to be accurate was probably the most challenging part.

I like the chandelier best, but that’s probably just because I love them ^^

Also, jpegs ruin the quality of the image- the Photoshop files look much crisper.
