Today has been a better day.

Well no more Maryland Deathfest for me. Finding a job has been much more difficult then I thought it would be (been looking since January, 3 job interviews later, nothing- I should note, it took me until March to be called in for an interview).  Infuriating as it is, I can’t give up.

Sucks but at least I had the opportunity to go for the past two years….and there’s always next year too!

Had my first modelling shoot yesterday. I’ve decided to give it a try as I’m interested in the artistic aspects of it it and collaborating with other artists/photographers. I’m not into overly photoshopped, unnnatural looking photos. Ideally I think photographers should really ease up on the airbrushing and embrace the natural beauty of the models.

I was pretty nervous because this is something new to me, but I think the nervousness will fade when I gain more experience. I was lucky to have a patient photographer working with me, and someone who doesn’t believe in over-editing photos. I have another shoot tomorrow and hope it goes alright….so here goes nothing.

The past few days have been crazy…..I’ve been so busy rushing around getting things done for the grad show at school and I’m still not done! Yesterday I managed to assemble the paintings for my display, but tommorrow I will have to return to school to add the finishing touches, I hope that goes well.

On the plus side, the site for all the ocadu thesis students is finished, my stuff is up here too, take a look: http://ocaduillustration.com/

Those of you from Toronto should come check out the grad show, from May 3rd-6th.

In the meantime, I’m going to post some photos from the Negură Bunget show on Friday, which was an amazing show…..and mesmerizing.

Wake up at 7 pm.

Good morning.

3rd job interview in the past few weeks. Let’s hope the 3rd time’s a charm?

I can’t believe it!

I just found out I passed all my classes for the semester, including thesis!

I was so nervous about not  passing my classes (especially my thesis class) but I did it! Thesis was the toughest thing I’ve had to do for university, but I’m glad I’ve made it this far.

Plus, I’ve maintained my ideal overall average (considering all my grades for all 4 years), so I’m happy about that too.

I’ve learned so much this year and I’m proud of how far I’ve come. Now for just one more semester in September, and it’s goodbye art school :)

Tickets to Europe booked, fuck yes.

On the itinerary:

Germany

Switzerland

Turkey

Greece

Just over two months to go! :D

P.S. Any of my European friends (or any of you for that matter) here on tumblr going to Under The Black Sun in Bernau?

Finished classes for the semester.
Fuck yes.

I don’t want to paint another portrait, I’d rather be painting patches!

3 more weeks until the semester is over.

I know there’s a ton of work to be done and yet I’m procrastinating even more than usual. Here’s what has to be done:

1. Complete my website

2. Complete sketches and 2 thesis paintings

3. Complete as many revisions of thesis paintings as I can

4. Complete painting assignment for painting class

5. Complete website promotion

Oops.

Just had a job interview today

I don’t think I’ve ever wanted a job so badly as this one, seeing as this one really relates to my interests. I’ve applied for a job as an art teacher’s assistant for children. I don’t have much experience related to teaching, but I have worked with children before and I think it’s pretty obvious I love art :P

The interview went alright, I’d say I have a 50/50 chance at this point. Answering the questions didn’t go as badly as I thought, but I think I fumbled up on a pretty important one. Anyways, there’s supposed to be a 2nd part of the interview, where they’ll call the interviewees into the art center, and have a ‘trial’ where they’ll see how potential employees interact with children and how they manage to teach art. I’m not sure if I’ve qualified for that part, but I’m realllly hoping I have. Fingers crossed!

I have a dangerous addiction to chocolate

I think I should just go set up a home in a field somewhere surrounded by nature, that’d be a pretty cool way to live
